Mika Kizuka is an interdisciplinary engineer with a passion for designing meaningful products for human interaction.

Kizuka brings over ten years of experience in 2D and 3D CAD design, web programming, and product development to the table. She is on a mission to make a positive impact in the world by pursuing a career in human-product interaction design. Her goal is to create products that not only work and look flawlessly but also inspire users to reimagine what is possible.

In her free time, Mika competes in FIS Alpine Snowboarding competitions across the world and plays the drums.

    Mechanical Design & Engineering Intern | June - August 2023

    - Performed FEA on stages, props, trusses, and structures for world-touring concerts using calculations, Ansys, and RISA.

    - Adhered to IBC, ASCE, AISC, ESTA, and ADM codes and standards to ensure performer and audience safety.

    - Designed, sketched, and pitched blue sky concepts for a paramount interactive, immersive, and branded experience.

  • SpaceX | Cape Canaveral, FL

    Integration & Reflight Engineering Intern | May - August 2022

    - Optimized propulsion checks on the rocket booster to reduce the fluid demand; saved nearly $400,000/year.

    - Designed, manufactured, tested, and integrated a pocket tool to verify various material properties simultaneously.

    - Organized and planned strength tests on the booster thermal shield to help define new hardware acceptance criteria.

    - Solely designed and programmed an efficient spare parts management system, utilizing barcodes and Microsoft Excel.

    - Fabricated and machined custom parts for factory lines to improve operator safety.
